IRDAI asks insurers to fast-track Assam flood claims

Insurers must expedite flood claim settlements for affected policyholders. The regulator has directed immediate deployment of surveyors and loss assessors. Special district-level claims desks and 24×7 helplines will be established. Electronic communication is encouraged to speed up claim registration and payments. This directive follows heavy rains and floods which began on July 19.
