Rains from dying typhoon batter China for seventh day

Southern China has been hit by heavy rains for the seventh consecutive day due to a typhoon, causing flooding and trapping residents. The typhoon, Haikui, has weakened to a tropical storm but continues to cause havoc in the region. The city of Shenzhen experienced the heaviest rain since records began in 1952, while Hong Kong faced its worst storm in 140 years.
