Nvidia is on the verge of becoming the first US chipmaker to reach $1tn in market valuation. The company’s shares rose 3.8% to leave it valued at $998bn. Nvidia’s revenue forecast has increased more than 50% and, with its shares up by nearly 25% last week, other chipmakers have also seen gains. However, with a valuation well above the long-term average, there may be “significant pressure to deliver high growth”.
