Liquidity measures widen market-repo rate disconnect

The Reserve Bank of India aims to align market rates with the repo rate, but liquidity conditions have caused a disconnect. The weighted average call rate (WACR) has rarely been within 10 basis points of the repo rate. Liquidity conditions also impact government treasury bills and external loan benchmarks.
